First culinary restaurant @ Ang mo kio

Address: 2 AMK Drive, Block A, #01-09 (Inside ITE)
 
We brought our Swedish colleague to this Chinese restaurant for lunch,  we also will having reunion diner for this coming New Years. So we took this opportunity for food tasting for This restaurant.
 
This is the pickle, is winter melon preserve with mandarin/ orange juice. Is special but no nice to eat.
 
Roast Pork this is nice and only at SGD 14.00 the skin very crispy and the meat very juicy
 

Scallop with asparagus - not bad the asparagus was crunchy and  fresh but scallop not so sweet
 
 
so sad after all I only know this picture so blur ..
Fry Small Cabbage - normal, I think I can do better then this
 


 
 
KungFu Duck with goose rival source
-not nice very hard and I cannot bite at all, and with goose rival source really weird  



Steam SoonHock  - it ate like frozen fish and I cannot taste the sweetness of the fish

Ha Ka Braised Chicken we cannot finished this, very salty

Pamelo Mango Sago -this is a Hong Kong dessert I like this so much, and this dessert is easy to do hence still acceptable.
 
 

Penang kitchen


Hungry go where 4 stars recomanded . And I saw the sun yen Zhi signature and some famous people signature outside the door. I miss so much of Penang hence we went there for food.

The pawn mee was nice and the soup is really authentic exactly like Penang crusine.

The chendol teste like home made and I really teaste the pandan leave teaste, and the gula Melaka is real gula Melaka cause some other place use black sugar or dilute with sugar too.



this fry kuah teow better than the Malaysia hawker center at jurong point . 

You also can find some of the Penang product there also... 

So if you like Penang food, maybe you can try this restaurant also .

I went to Coronation plaza last Saturday (  07 Dec.2013) for diner. 


When we look for the Manu the price are expensive 

Chicken tomyam : sgd 10.00 
Fried rice : sgd 9
Fry kailan : sgd 8
Tea : sgd 3
Plain rice: sgd 1.50

Furthermore you can see the potion is very small and after diner we still need to find other thing to eat..

I am too hungry and I feel the tomyam soup not bad actually and the teaste like we ate at Bangkok but the ingredient was too little. We fry kailan is good I can feel the crunchy but super little. 

Fry rice Soso only and the Thai tea was bad, will not order again 

香港盛记甜品 -Ang Mo Kio . Cauway point


晚上在causeway point 不知道要吃什么就选了最少人的一间来试试看,我们就这样走进了盛记。

首先来看看圣诞特别甜品,不过我没叫哦!


接下来是特惠主食,只要加SGD1.90 就可以甜品加罗卜糕或饮料。


紧接着是盛记的菜单,老实说选择有点少,应该不可能常去吃。









这是我们今天叫的食物:
香菇鸡肉饭-味道还Ok就是饭少些。



我叫的是云吞面OK过約克,他的辣椒我还蛮喜欢的。

加了SGD1.90 的饭后甜品,我觉得这个最划算了。

这个包是我的错真的不好吃。

这间店阿可能可以来试试看,但来第二次就没什么想吃的,回头率不高啦!香港盛记甜品

MOF @ Serangon Nex

MOF @ Serangon Nex  renovation just done and we have long time never been there, hence we went there tonight. And I found the decoration no longer Japanese casual dining but look more like western style and I found they are combine 2 restaurant and I have 2 sets of manual

One is western style : LENAS

The other is MOF 

 Of course I will choose MOF , but I found the services level have been drop a lot, cause when I first visited MOF, the hot tea will serve to customer and this is the member privilege. Now plain water need to pay 30 cen.. And all the standard of food have been dropped a lot too.

Wasabi avacado toufu salad, this  is the only food standard still same with previous, is simple and nice, especially for the wasabi mayonass ass the special to this's salad.



Miso chicken ramen - the egg is good but no taste at all and the ramen not look like ramen


Unagi pot- the unagi not fresh and the candle just a while, and the pot warm only no hot at all


Mocha match IMO,  Last time they will serve wit a small cup of green tea and let u put to the ice- cream now don't have already furthermore they just have one spoon and I request one more and the waiter told me they have no enought spoon haven't wash yet... Moreover the Japanese potato not sweet as before and got a bit of burn teaste.

If MOF standard continue to be that, I will not go again.

Muffin from Shangri-la hotel

 

We have received Shangri-la Hotel from our company guest, 6pcs one person each, I choose the chocolate muffin. I thought the Shangri-La is 5 star hotel so the muffin should be 5 star muffin. look great by some favour taste not so fantastic

 The worse one is for Jenny, cause this cup cake was too moisture, the proportion of ingredient not correct or they cover up when the cup cake still hot. the muffin look so scramble, at the end only can use spoon to eat muffin.. and we guess this is blueberry muffin, but we have difficult to taste the blueberry.



 

At this conclusion the chef  need to increase their skill to make a better muffin, we are disappointed with these muffin ....

We brought the Groupon for SGD 10 for SGD 20, and we went to Nex purposely want to tried this restaurant, is very crowed cause most of the people like me brought the Groupon before come.
 
Laksania is a innovative laksa house, in the menu you able to find  Laksa Lugsana, fry Laksa and so on , besides that you also have to find Singapore Laksa, Sarawk Laksa, Penang Laksa, , Terengganu laksa and so on , but my favours still Singapore laksa.
 
Hence we order 2 bowl Singapore Laksa (SGD 8.50x2 ) and 2 Chendol (4SGD 4.5 X 2), I think they have increase their price, I remember last time will SGD 7.5, if I not wrong.
 
the ingredient of the Laksa was cockle, half hard boil egg, fish cake, Toupok.
the bowl very big, inside not so much, just nice for 1 person, but they using big bowl, illusion like very less, but still ok for me.
 
The Chendol - I like the green jelly, is the home made jelly, but the red bean very hard, not cook enough, I tried 2 times both time the red bean also very hard, I just don understand why. the Gula Kelapa are using, but I more prefer Gula melacca, the taste better.  
 
The good point is the servering time very fast, around 5 minute the Chedol already serve ( I request before meal), after 7 minute both Lasa serve. good rite... :)

This is a coffee shop at sutera mall and sell a lot of Belgium waffle . 

Today we are order 2 in 1 waffle, so we can choose 2 favours at Rm 15.90 if only 1 favours 1 at rm 12.90





I think the waffle is average but not make me impress.


This green latte was good 


This lemon grass lemon tea was good very fragrance .


But papermint tea no taste all all . 





The cake and coffee also Avarage but the environment will be ok for lady chit chat. So if you don't know where to go ... Maybe can try this .

Today Allan treat us for lunch and he told us, this is the best teow chew restaurant in town and the environment is very confortable but the location not very strategic if you don't have you own transport, is quite a distance to walk from Novena Mrt.

This is the tea before meal to increase the appetite, and you can eat more later.


 

The first dish will Emerald bean curd 

The bean curd and 2 layer one is made from spinach and the other layer will be bean curd. On top with mushroom gravy. The deepfryed bean curd with soft texture.
 
Braised Conpoy with eight vegetarian tresures
Generous potion and braised very well



Teow chew style steamed promfret
The fresh fish is simply steamed with tomatoes, salted vegetables, sour plum and topped with chopped Chinese parsley. It has the sweetness from the fish and tangy flavour from the plum..

Stalted veggie stem chicken 
I love this dish the most, this chicken stem with the salted veggie and its bring the taste to the chicken and yet salty, the staled veggie at the bottom very sweet and chewable, unlike other salted veggie very soft.
 
Teochew Braised gooses, this restaurant are very good to braised items, the gooses taste like duck but without the duck smile and more fragrance.

 
Hot sweet yam paste with pumkin and Gingko nuts
the yam paste very smooth and eat with pumpkin just a prefect match, because natural yam after stem and made into paste will not be very sweet, and eat with pumpkin and just nice. but for me I prefer the traditional yam paste, in a big plate instead of individual bowl.   
 
Overall in enjoy very much for their food, I think is a good restaurant for dining. I have not much teochew dining experience to draw a conclusion whether is a authentic teochew restaurant, but food wise is good. :)
